The Single Action Shooting Society is the World wide organization that provides guidance in safety, co-ordinates regional and world Championship matches, maintains the alias registry and produces The Cowboy Chronicle, a monthly newspaper. While naturally most Clubs are in the United States, there are SASS clubs in Europe, Australia, and Canada.

The Wyoming Single Action Shooters (WSAS) is the Wyoming state association that provides co-ordination between the Wyoming Clubs and SASS, the National Association. Membership in a local Wyoming club includes membership in WSAS. In all WSAS matches SASS rules apply.
